Membre de l'UE depuis le 1er janvier 2007, la Roumanie harmonise ses industries et ses institutions publiques avec les normes européennes. Ce pays en forte croissance offre de belles opportunités aux entrepreneurs français.
La Roumanie, démocratie parlementaire, compte 22,5 millions d'habitants. Le roumain est une langue romane proche de l'italien et du français. Bucarest est le centre politique, administratif, économique, financier et bancaire, mais aussi académique, scientifique et culturel du pays. La devise nationale est le leu (RON), avec un taux de change d'environ 3,7 RON pour 1 euro. La croissance économique est portée par les investissements étrangers, mais aussi par la demande intérieure. De très nombreuses réformes ont été engagées, notamment pour améliorer les infrastructures, l'environnement des affaires et pour lutter contre la corruption. La France est le quatrième investisseur étranger en Roumanie, mais nos exportations progressent à un rythme moins élevé que celui de la demande roumaine.
